This material is based on my breakthrough revelations, insights from using my subconscious mind, my personal experiences and practical knowledge, and my investigations of the human mind.


Nature of your two minds

The human brain has two separate minds: the conscious mind and the subconscious mind. These two minds have very different abilities and purposes.

When you are awake, you are in direct control of your conscious mind. This mind can only do a few things at a time. This mind controls what are known as your voluntary actions. These are things such as walking, talking, thinking, and making decisions. When you think of who or what you are, you usually mean your conscious mind. However, the actions of your conscious mind are strongly influenced by your subconscious mind.

You normally are not in direct control of your subconscious mind. This mind can do any number of things all at the same time. It controls what are known as your involuntary actions. These include digesting your food, interpreting your nerve impulses, storing and retrieving your memories, and taking charge of your physical actions in emergencies or when your attention wanders.

However, I can recall two occasions when I was able to control my subconscious mind.

The first time I was resting my eyes while lying in bed one evening. My subconscious was displaying a series of rapidly changing images, for my amusement apparently. Eventually I noticed that these images never had any people in them. So I thought to myself, "How about some people?" Instantly all the images included groups of people!

The other time was when I was able to turn one of my dreams into a lucid dream by looking at my hand, as recommended in a book I had read. Instantly I was able to control the actions in the dream just by my thoughts. If I weren't so busy with other things, I would try for more of these lucid dreams. The power they give a person is fantastic!

Getting back to the subject... There is one function of your subconscious mind that is vital to your survival and success in life. That function is using your belief system, life experiences, and sensory information to interpret the nature of your surroundings and your possibilities in life. Thus, your subconscious mind helps you decide whether to engage in a new activity. Because you do not directly control your subconscious mind, you usually are not aware of how it influences your actions.

In my opinion, this lack of awareness is why the key factors required to achieve success in life have remained such a mystery to most people. These factors have to do with your beliefs, which are hidden away in your subconscious mind. Neither you nor anyone else can directly review these hidden beliefs. But if you look around at your surroundings and accomplishments, it is obvious what beliefs are controlling your results in life.

How beliefs affect your life

Beliefs are important in the lives of people. Beliefs help a person belong to a particular social group. Beliefs help a person know what to do in various circumstances. Beliefs act to impose limits on a person’s actions and desires. Thus, beliefs help maintain law and order in a society.

Beliefs are a substitute for reality. It would be very tedious and time-consuming to verify all the concepts contained in a person’s beliefs. Moreover, in most cases beliefs are perfectly adequate for guiding a person’s life. However, there is an important exception to the general rule.

Some of your current beliefs may be preventing you from choosing and/or completing desirable and attainable goals and dreams to improve your life.

If you have limiting beliefs that are adversely affecting your life, you may want to suppress them. You can do this by using an affirmation or a visualization to implant empowering beliefs into your subconscious mind.

Here are some signs that limiting beliefs are adversely affecting your life:

  • You are afraid to try new activities; but there is no good reason for your fear.
  • You don't enjoy your current lifestyle; but you don't take action to improve things.
  • You often feel helpless and/or depressed, but you don't know why.
  • If you run into problems when trying to complete a difficult goal or task, you often just give up.
  • Many of the friends you knew in school have achieved more in life than you have; but they weren't any smarter in school than you were.

If some of the above signs apply to you, maybe it's time to start empowering yourself. After selecting a suitable goal, decide what new beliefs would help you achieve that goal. For example, you may want to become more assertive or you may want to increase your self-confidence. Next, you can implant the appropriate empowering beliefs into your subconscious mind. Then you can start taking the required constructive actions to achieve your goal.

Overcoming limiting beliefs

You may wonder how these empowering beliefs can overcome any limiting beliefs that may exist in your subconscious mind. Here is the explanation.

The connections of the various circuits in your brain are changeable. New connections can be formed as influenced by your actions, decisions, expectations, and experiences. This has happened all through your childhood and early adulthood. New connections also can be formed by implanting new beliefs into your subconscious mind. Old connections can fade away from disuse.

New connections in your brain circuits are created when the subconscious mind continually receives impressions of a certain nature. These connections are reinforced whenever the subconscious mind uses them to control or influence your actions. The connections are also reinforced as more of the creative impressions are received. This is especially true if these creative impressions are highly emotional or forceful.

Thus, when you implant new beliefs into your subconscious mind you are creating new connections in your brain circuits. When you act on these new beliefs, you reinforce these new connections. By continuing to implant new beliefs and act on these beliefs, you keep increasing the strength of these new connections in your brain circuits.

When existing circuit connections are no longer controlling your actions or receiving the impressions that created them, the strength of their connections gradually decreases.

When the subconscious mind is called upon to control or influence your actions, it uses those brain circuits that have the strongest connections. Thus, empowering (new) beliefs can overcome any limiting (old) beliefs that exist. You just have to implant these empowering beliefs, using strong emotions, over a few weeks or months. Then you must deliberately choose to take actions based on these empowering beliefs. Eventually these repeated actions will become a habit. This is how you can gain new personal powers. These new powers can be used to accomplish goals and dreams that improve your life.
